Dr. John Raymond
Christopher was born on November 25, 1909 with advanced
rheumatoid arthritis and also shortly later would
develop hardening of the arteries. Doctors at the time
predicted he would never reach the age of 30. Shortly
after high school, he had been in a severe car accident
and experienced much pain and sleepless nights. At that
time, he came across some literature that made a
profound impression. It was then that he developed for
himself a diet of fruits, vegetables, grains, nut and
seeds. His health improved immediately and dramatically
and he went on to operate a health food store. When
World War II broke out, he went as a conscientious
objector, and eventually became the only practicing
herbalist in the US Army during WWII. Later, he would
study under Dr. H. Nowell at Dominion Herbal College in
Vancouver to earn his Master Herbalist Degree and went
on to obtain a naturopathy degree from Iowa's Institute
of Drugless Therapy, and an herbal pharmacist degree
from the Los Angeles Herbal Institute. In 1953 he
established the School of Natural Healing located in
Salt Lake City, Utah. He taught and believed that there
should be an herbalist in every home and a master
herbalist in every community. You can discover more
