GUARANA Benefits-
Guarana is a stimulating tonic that is believed to improve physical stamina and endurance. Because its guaranine content is almost identical to caffeine in its actions, athletes have been known to take it to stimulate and improve their performance and increase their strength and endurance. It is also thought to reduce fatigue and exhaustion. The combination of guarinine, theobromine and theophyline act to stimulate the central nervous system and also act to enhance the metabolic rate, which may be helpful in weight loss programs.
As a "nervine," Guarana is also said to strengthen functional activity of the nervous system. The alkaloids, theobromine, and theophylline act to stimulate the central nervous system and are thought to be useful in cases of neuralgia, paralysis, migraine and nervous headache (particularly popular in the U.S. and Europe) and the distress that sometimes accompanies menstruation.

Guarana is considered a gentle excitant that is said to be good for depression and mental exertion where there is fatigue or even exhaustion from hot weather. It is also thought to increase mental sharpness and concentration, which may also be a result of its guarinine content.

The tannins in Guarana act as an astringent and are said to help ease mild forms of leucorrhoea (vaginal discharge) and diarrhea.

As a mild diuretic, Guarana is thought to promote urine flow and act as febrifuge that helps to reduce mild fevers. It is also said to alleviate urinary tract irritation.

Hoodia: Botanical information
The potential of Hoodia gordonii as an diet aid for weight control has produced frenetic interest in this previously, little-known plant. Along with any strong, new interest in healthcare, public confusion often prevails. There are many unscrupulous web sites that are using deceiving sales practices to lure unsuspecting Hoodia buyers. Hoodia gordonii has been incorrectly referred to as a cactus. While it has a prickly green appearance, like a cactus, it belongs to a group of plants called succulents of the Asclepiadaceae family. There are at least 2,000 species of the Asclepiadaceae group of plants, and half of these species are succulents. Succulent plants imply that the body of the plant is full of juice and has fleshy tissues that will conserve water. Breaking the skin of the plant Hoodia results in the flow of juices and presentation of "plant flesh". This material has been considered to be very nutritious by the San bushmen of South Africa . Although a variety of species of Hoodia are found in the desert burn regions of South Africa ( Kalahari , Botswana , and Namibia ), not all varieties of Hoodia have been used as appetite suppressants. The principal, prized plant of the bushmen is Hoodia Gordonii which is used in our 100% pure Hoodia TRIM-FAST Gordonii diet supplements.

Most Hoodia species are eaten as a foodstuff, thorns peeled off and the Aerial Stem is eaten like a cucumber, the <u>pulpy leaf flora is not the source of the appetite suppression. They formed a much needed emergency supply of food in harsh desert conditions when food was not plentiful.

The indigenous tribal people of South Africa have used the Hoodia Gordonii cactus plant on long hunting trips across the desert, to curb hunger and as a thirst quencher. Pharmaceutical companies have recognized the potential from the pure Hoodia cactus plant and are currently trying to synthetically reproduce the active components so that they can be patented as a weight loss prescription appetite suppression drug. Cell Health Makeovers 100% pure Hoodia Gordinii weight loss Diet supplements contain the all natural source from the Hoodia Gordonii cactus plant, NOT from extract.
